Definition of Sheer
Fibre: Any fibre.
Weave: Mostly plain but could be various weaves.
Characteristics: Any very light-weight fabric (e.g. chiffon, georgette, Voilé, sheer Crêpe). Usually has an open weave, very thin; diaphanous. They mostly feel cool.
Derivation of Sheer: Middle English schere, probably via dialect shire ‘pure, clear’ from Old English scºr, from Germanic
